The Eisteddfod’s very first rock prom is less concert and more of a gig – a musical homage to the Welsh language Rock Scene featuring its current darlings Yr Ods, Sŵnami and Candelas and will be held in the Pavilion during this year’s festival in Monmouthshire on Thursday evening, 4 August.

Elinor Gwynn is the winner of this year’s Monmouthshire and District National Eisteddfod Crown, and she received the accolade at a ceremony on the Pavilion stage in Abergavenny today.

On the first morning of the Monmouthshire and District Eisteddfod, the message is clear - everyone is very welcome at Castle Meadows, Abergavenny – with a great big Croeso for all!
Eighteen stoneware towers, which disassemble for domestic use, have won one of the major Visual Arts awards at the Monmouthshire and Distrcit 2016 National Eistedfod of Wales.
The Monmouthshire and District National Eisteddfod Young Artist’s Scholarship has been awarded to an art student from Ceredigion, for a video representing the loss in Welsh culture.
16mm films that include the film projectors as a central part of the work, have scooped one of the main Visual Arts awards at the Monmouthshire and District 2016 National Eisteddfod of Wales.
