Adjudicators: Geinor Styles, Mared Swain & Richard Lynch

The play that shows the most promise and has potential for further development through collaborating with a professional company will be awarded.

Part of the winning work will be presented at the Drama Medal Ceremony with the support of the JO Roberts Memorial Fund

Plays that can be staged with a cast of no more than three performers are welcome.

Contestants are encouraged to consider novelty in form and/or handling of themes.

It is stressed that this is a drama composition competition for a theatre medium and not any other medium.

No work containing libelous material or reference will be accepted.

As the promotion of new writing is the intention of the Eisteddfod, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, and other professional theatre companies alike, the winning script, or any script that shows promise in the eyes of the adjudicators in the Drama Medal competition will be sent to Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru. Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru will consider developing the script further or forwarding it, at their request, to other Welsh-language professional companies.
