The first Gorsedd ceremony of the week in the Pavilion is led by the Archdruid, Mererid, and is the Crowning Ceremony.
The Crown is presented for a poem of no more than 250 lines on the title Atgof (Memory). The adjudicators for this year's competition were Tudur Dylan Jones, Elinor Gwynn and Guto Dafydd.
Representatives from the Celtic countries and Gorsedd Y Wladfa are invited onto the stage at the beginning of the ceremony.
