The adjudication panel will choose four competitors across the categories in the vocal solo competitions over 25 years old to compete on the pavilion stage.
- The song choice from Section A
- Own choice of a solo by a Welsh composer excluding the songs sung in Section B of the solo competitions for those 25 year of age and over
The winner will receive a prize of £300 donated from the Memorial Fund of the late Aeron Gwyn, a past winner of the David Ellis Memorial Prize in 2005. A special invitation is extended to the winner as well to perform at Melbourne's Welsh Church St David's Day celebrations in 2027
