With the Wrecsam National Eisteddfod fast approaching, festival events and activities are all available online, with information on over 1,000 individual events
And this year's programme includes a host of evening events and activities, with something for everyone. Eisteddfod Chief Executive, Betsan Moses, "We’re very aware of the need to offer a wide variety of evening events across the Maes and across the different artistic genres and I’m delighted to assure everyone that we have a strong and varied programme this year.
“This year’s major concert is ‘Y Stand’, a brand new show by Manon Steffan Ros and Osian Huw Williams (Candelas), which introduces us to a group of people who sit together in the football stand during home games. This is the 2025 Eisteddfod choir concert, and there are two opportunities to catch the show – Saturday 2 August and Monday 4 August at 19:30.
“The iconic Cymanfa Ganu is held on Sunday night, with the Rev Aled Lewis Evans, leading the opening section of the evening, before we welcome Wales and the World President, Maxine Hughes, to the stage.
“We’re aware that paying for a concert ticket on top of a Maes ticket can be difficult, so we’ve made sure we have plenty of free events dotted around the Maes.
“There’s a number of different stages offering all kinds of evening entertainment this year, including two new venues. Y Stiwdio is home to the preliminary rounds during the day, becoming a more intimate concert hall in the evening. There’s also a multi-use space in the Science and Technology Village, which is home to most of the theatrical productions, and the Cwt Cabaret is also back this year.
"We’re pleased to be able to publish our full online programme earlier than ever before, and our official souvenir programme with plenty of interesting feature articles and interviews is now available to buy in shops all across Wales.”
The Wrecsam National Eisteddfod is held from 2-9 August. For more information on the programme, tickets and how to get to the Maes, go online at www.eisteddfod.cymru.
