The closing date for the Wrecsam National Eisteddfod composition competitions is fast approaching

The Chair of this year’s local Executive Committee is keen to see plenty of entries across all sections.

Llinos Roberts said, "We’re very proud of the list of competitions at the Wrecsam Eisteddfod, and I’d like to thank everyone who helped to compile such an entertaining and varied list.

"It's difficult to believe that there’s only a few days left for competitors to complete their work and make sure they’ve uploaded everything correctly to the Eisteddfod system. Don't leave it till the last minute - it's better to know that your work’s arrived a little early than to worry about uploading everything against the ticking clock!

"As we approach the beginning of April, there’s only five months to go until we’ll be welcoming everyone to Wrecsam, and I know I speak for the whole team when I say that we really can’t wait to see everyone!

"Things are going very well here. We’ve already announced the first wave of artists with more announcements to come next week. The caravan site has sold out, stalls are going extremely well and there are only a handful of Societies sessions left on the weekends.

"We’ve also launched a new campsite, Hwyrnos, for those who feel a little old to stay in Maes B but aren’t quite ready for the caravan site yet, and we’ve had a great response to this new site.

"Early bird tickets are available online until 1 April, so make sure you get online before then to grab a bargain."

Once the compositions are all in, there’s only one deadline left to go, 1 May, which is the closing date to register for our stage competitions. Full details of all our competitions are on the Eisteddfod website, www.eisteddfod.cymru, and there’s still time to donate a prize at this year’s Wrecsam Eisteddfod, with these details also available online.

The Wrecsam National Eisteddfod is held from 2-9 August. For more information go online.
