Are you interested in the arts and culture here in Wales?

Would you like to work with the National Eisteddfod team to shape the competitions programme for the future?

We’re looking for enthusiastic and energetic people to join our national subject panels, to work with us to develop and prepare our competitions programme and offer advice and opinions on the Eisteddfod festival and its work annually.

Come and find out more about what we do and how you can join the team at our drop-in session on the Eisteddfod Maes. We’ll be at the Lido Visitor Centre in Ynysangharad Park at 11:30 on Friday 9 August with some of our members to answer any questions you may have about the groups, the responsibilities and how you can get involved.

Our competitions are divided into a series of sections and each section has a subject panel to advise and support our local volunteers and staff. Each panel includes competitors, representatives from relevant organisations, coaches and individuals interested in each of the sections.

We’re recruiting new members for several of our panels, and we’re particularly keen to hear from groups which are currently under-represented in our work, including new and / or less confident Welsh speakers, members of various ethnic communities and individuals who identify themselves as disabled.

Each group is represented on our national culture committee, chaired by Trystan Lewis, who says, “We’re looking for new members to join us to shape the competitive festival for the future.

"Our competitions are what set us apart from all other festivals, and it’s important that we have a strong team who understand, enjoy and appreciate our aims so we can work together to further develop the Eisteddfod’s core element.

“If you’re on the Maes on Friday morning and would like to find out more, come and chat to us about what we do, or contact one of the team for a chat before you submit your application if you have any questions. Let’s hope we’ll be welcoming new members to the groups when we meet in early autumn.”

You can apply online now, www.eisteddfod.cymru/panelau-canolog or wait until after the session on the Maes. The closing date is Wednesday 4 September, and successful applicants will be invited to join the panel meetings at the end of September.

The Rhondda Cynon Taf National Eisteddfod is held from 3-10 August. For more information go online.
