The Proclamation of the Wrecsam National Eisteddfod will be held in 100 days, on Saturday 27 April this year
The day is an important opportunity for the area to welcome the Eisteddfod and for the festival to welcome local people to be part of the Eisteddfod.
Announcing the date for the event, organisers have also launched an appeal for volunteers on the day, and the chance for schools, groups and societies to register to join the community procession with Gorsedd Cymru to welcome the Eisteddfod to the area.
The main aim of the Proclamation is to present the List of Competitions to the Archdruid, with Llinos Roberts, Executive Committee Chair, having the honour this year.
With 100 days to go until the ceremony, the main prizes are available to sponsor, including the Crown, Chair and the Prose Medal, and a number of honours such as the Sir TH Parry-Williams Memorial Prize and the Science and Technology Medal, and all the information is available on the Eisteddfod website.
The full list of prizes available will be online by February, with all prizes included in the List of Competitions, which has been discussed in detail by the festival’s local and national committees.
There’s still time to join our local committees, with the local fund in particular keen to attract members and volunteers to help raise awareness and money to make sure we have a week to remember in Wrecsam in a year and a half.
Activities are already underway in some places, and over the next few months, hundreds of events will be held across the county, all promoting our language and culture in the name of the Eisteddfod, and a chance for local people of all ages to come together to socialise.
More details on the Proclamation available soon, and information on all aspects of the Wrecsam National Eisteddfod, held from 2-9 August 2025, available online, www.eisteddfod.wales/2025.
