The Muni is an arts centre, located in a Grade 2 listed building in Pontypridd town centre, just minutes from Ynysangharad Park.

The beautiful gothic style Wesleyan chapel was opened in 1895, before being turned into an important centre for the arts and music.  Over the past few years, the building has been extensively redeveloped to create a fully accessible centre for all kinds of activities and cultural events activities.

During the week most of our semi-finals are held here, creating a memorable experience for competitors and audience alike. A series of intimate concerts are held in the evenings, which are sure to appeal to local and national audiences.

On Monday night Music Theatre Wales, in partnership with the Eisteddfod, perform ‘Bwystfilod Aflan’, a response to Prosser Rhys's famous poem through the medium of opera and dance.

On Wednesday evening, the Rhondda Cynon Taf Music Service’s senior orchestra join their guests, Gwilym Bowen Rhys, Angharad Jenkins and members of VRï for an evening of traditional music arranged for orchestra.

On Thursday night, we mark the centenary of the death of French composer, Gabriel Fauré, who spent periods here in Wales, with a performance of his famous Requiem with some of our leading former winners.

Entry to The Muni events is free with a Maes ticket wristband, or buy your evening tickets on  the door.
