Dr Jenny Day and Dr Gruffudd Antur, of the University of Wales Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies, discuss the contribution of the medieval poet Gutun Owain to the literary culture of the Wrexham area and the wider north-east, and to the later development of the Renaissance in Wales.

The session launches the new project, ‘The first Welsh Renaissance man? Gutun Owain and the scholarly culture of north-east Wales in the later Middle Ages’, funded by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)
