The Miners Institute in Rhosllannerchrugog celebrates its centenary in 2026. The Stiwt as its known locally has been the cultural, creative and political heart of the community since it was built with contributions by local miners from their meagre wages in the 1920s, and re-opened in 1997 following a community fundraising camping to refurbish and save it for future generations.
It is a centre that stages theatrical and musical performances from all over Wales and beyond, as well as hosting an array of community events.
Join us to remember the past, to enjoy current local talents and to contribute to celebrating the future of this iconic building which has been a stronghold of the Welsh language on the border for a century. With: Stifyn Parri, Dyfed Thomas, Dylan Davies, Caitlin Drake, Mark Lewis Jones, Daniel Lloyd and others.
