The modern folk band “Paid Gofyn” were established in Autumn 2022 in South East Wales.
“Paid Gofyn” were keen to share Welsh language music with new audiences; audiences often with only a little understanding of the language. The band play original compositions, traditional songs as well as covers of classics.

Their followers and audiences have expanded rapidly, with invitations to play in Ireland as well as North and South Wales. The band have performed over a dozen gigs in Ireland as part of the fringe events at the Pan Celtic Festival with Dewi Pws joining the band for the final encore.
Recently the band have been busy in fundraising events for the National Eisteddfod playing in Clwb Y Bont Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Saith Seren Wrecsam for the 2025 Eisteddfod. Paid Gofyn have recently played The Royal Welsh Show, Rhondda Heritage Centre, Ffiliffest, Merthyr and Tredegar
In April 2024 the band released its first 12 track album “Bob Cae’r Mynydd” -available on all major streaming platforms.
“Paid Gofyn” have appeared on S4C and Radio Cymru
