The latest album by Gareth Bonello, who performs under the name 'The Gentle Good', has received high praise and attention since it was released in September last year.
The record reinterprets old Welsh folk songs while reflecting on the misery and sadness of the 2020s. The arrangements are simple and sparse, leaving Gareth's gentle voice and artful technique on the acoustic guitar to shine.
Many of the songs come from the National Library of Wales archive, and the collection of Meredydd Evans and Phyllis Kinney in particular.
