This session will discuss what is currently being done and what else needs to be done to further develop Welsh language education in the south-east in order to provide opportunities for Welsh language education for everyone, from all backgrounds. Panel members will include individuals who work directly in the areas of policy, planning and promoting Welsh education, as well as individuals who work with learners and families in the provision of Welsh education.
The session will be an opportunity to discuss issues such as:
· the steps needed to ensure further growth,
· Welsh-medium Additional Learning Needs provision,
· promoting Welsh education with groups from diverse backgrounds, and
· the system of school categorisation and delivery of Welsh medium education.
