The scholarship was established to promote classical music in Wales and to support the professional development of the competitor in the classical singing industry.
The competition is open to:
- Anyone born in Wales;
- Anyone born to a Welsh parent;
- Anyone who has lived or worked in Wales for three years before 31 August 2025
