Grahame Davies presenting his memories of his inspirational former teacher and poet, Bryan Martin Davies

It was the year 1980, and Grahame Davies, from the village of Coedpoeth, had left the world of Welsh-language education and started at Yale Sixth College in Wrexham, with his sights set on joining the British Army.

But he was on the verge of a turning point that led him in a very different direction.

His registration teacher was the poet Bryan Martin Davies, and because they had the Welsh language in common, Grahame soon became a poetic pupil of the writer from Brynaman.

Now, a decade after the death of Bryan Martin at the age of 82 in 2015, Grahame presents an appreciation of the brilliant career of his poetic master, one of Bro Maelor's adopted sons, and one who left his mark on Welsh poetry and on the lives of those who came under his influence
