This is Cwmni Ben Set's first production, and we are proud to provide a theatrical reading of the play that claimed the Drama Medal at the Boduan National Eisteddfod in 2023, namely 'Eiliad o Ddewiniaeth’ (‘A Moment of Wizardry’) by Cai Evans. The reading will be performed by Manon Wilkinson, Ianto Williams and Cedron Sion, having been directed by Morfudd Hughes and Cefin Roberts. ‘Eiliad o Ddewiniaeth’ is a reflective comedy about a young boy trapped on the lonely periphery of society. His peers mock him openly, and his mother, Alys, is well aware of her son’s isolation. His only refuge is football and the voices of two imaginary commentators, Clive and Jim, who have seen immense potential in the 'little boy from Bryntywyll'. This is a talent that Ceri believes will allow him to see his father again, after a long absence. But, in the absence of a father figure in the household, Alys and Ceri receive an unexpected visitor who will gradually change the course of the play, and their lives. With children and young people increasingly retreating into their own little worlds, this is a play that is relevant to everyone of all ages.
