Y Cledrau formed in 2012 when the members were pupils at Ysgol y Berwyn, Y Bala. Their first EP "Un Ar Ôl y Llall" was released in 2015, then their first album "Peiriant Ateb" in December 2017. The album caught the attention of the Welsh music scene, as the gig offers flowed in, meaning 2 ridiculously busy years in 2018 and 2019 performing gigs all over Wales. The band went back to writing at the beginning of 2020, then took advantage of the silence of the lockdown period to finish and release their second album, "Cashews Blasus", in July 2021. With two albums worth of well-known songs, Y Cledrau headlined the biggest stages in Wales: Llwyfan y Maes, Maes B, Clwb Ifor Bach, Tafwyl, as well as receiving constant attention on the radio and social media. "Os Oes Cymaint o Drwbwl.." was released as a single on their label's 10th anniversary celebration album, IKaChing in 2022. The band went to record the single "Fel Hyn Fel Arfer" in November 2022 to celebrate 10 years since the band's first gig at the Plas Coch pub, Bala, and it was released in 2023 with a video by Lŵp along with it
