Gold foil emergency blankets printed with traditional Welsh bedcover patterns have won the Conwy County 2019 National Eisteddfod of Wales Gold Medal for Fine Art.

At its Council meeting in Aberystwyth today, the National Eisteddfod announced that this year’s festival in Cardiff attracted more visitors than ever before, with many attending for the first time.

Having won the stool at Monday evening’s Siwper Stomp on the Pavilion stage, and the Stomp Werin in Tŷ Gwerin last night, Gruffudd Eifion Owen added a Chair to his collection on Friday afternoon, winning in the final main ceremony of the Cardiff National Eisteddfod week.

Mellt have won this year’s Welsh Language Album of the Year for their album, Mae’n Hawdd Pan ti’n Ifanc.

Rhydian Gwyn Lewis wins this year’s Drama Medal.

Tim Heeley is the winner of this year’s Musicians Medal, and he was honoured at a special ceremony on the HSBC Pavilion Stage today.

This year’s Welsh Learner of the Year is Matt Spry. 

Manon Steffan Ros wins the Cardiff National Eisteddfod Prose Medal in a competition which attracted fourteen competitors.

Mari Williams is the winner of this year’s Daniel Owen Memorial Medal, presented at a special ceremony on the Pavilion stage today.

One of Wales’ most exciting young poets and writers has won this year’s Eisteddfod Crown in Cardiff.  

Helen Williams is the winner of the Elvet and Mair Elvet Thomas Memorial Trophy at the 2018 Cardiff National Eisteddfod.
