WHY SHOULD I HAVE A TRADESTAND AT THE EISTEDDFOD ?
If you would like to promote your business to a large Welsh market, you can do so at the Eisteddfod for a very reasonable cost.
Many shops and companies choose the Eisteddfod to gain national exposure and to sell their goods. Some decide to launch their company at the Eisteddfod. All the major Welsh institutions as well as professional, voluntary and charity organisations are also present.
Wales’ largest cultural festival, based on 800 years of tradition. It is held through the medium of Welsh and all traders should expect to receive queries from visitors and customers in Welsh. The stallholder must, therefore, have at least one Welsh speaking member of staff available at all times - this person can be an experienced learner or someone just starting to learn. Traders should also ensure that the majority of pamphlets, etc on the stand shall be in Welsh.
At the centre of the Maes you will find the main pavilion where various competitions, the Gorsedd ceremonies and evening concerts are all held. There are also numerous smaller pavilions and different areas around the Maes such as the Literature Tent, Children’s Village, Science Village, the Visual Arts Exhibition (Y Lle Celf), a Welsh learners area, sports area, as well as a theatre, cinema and an open air stage for various performers until late at night. The food village caters for everyone with a wide range of street food stalls. There is also a licenced restaurant on site.
The Festival, which attracts in the region of 150,000 visitors, is situated in a different location each year.
Come to the Eisteddfod to promote your company – you won’t be disappointed !
