Welcome to the Volunteering section. If you have a few hours to spare during the Eisteddfod, why not join our volunteering team?
You can complete the process quickly and easily here, and return to choose your shifts closer to the Eisteddfod.
Without the invaluable assistance and support of our army of volunteers, staging the National Eisteddfod would simply not be possible, and we are very indebted to those who have assisted over the years.
Loads of people help out at the National Eisteddfod each year, many of them on a voluntary basis. Although our volunteers aren't paid money, they get a free day ticket for each day they volunteer, plus a food voucher if you volunteer for 2 shifts on any day (shift is usually around 3 and a half hours).
Volunteers are only on duty for a few shifts across the entire festival week, unless you want to offer more; this means that you’ll get time off to enjoy the event. Unfortunately we can't guarantee you time off to watch specific activities, it all depends on what shifts you're allocated!
The National Eisteddfod is a celebration of the Welsh language, and many of our visitors speak Welsh. If you can’t speak Welsh or don’t feel very confident, we will do our best to pair you with a Welsh speaker where required.
It’s really good fun to volunteer – it’s sociable and you’ll get to meet lots of other like-minded people.
You must be 18 to become a steward
