The Science and Technology Pavilion has developed immensely since its inception over forty years ago.
Today, it is one of the most popular areas on the Maes and is the place to visit to find out about all things to do with science and technology.
The main objective of this pavilion is to showcase science and STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to people from all ages. We hope to inspire children and youngsters to consider a career in STEM and to increase the take-up of STEM subjects – through the medium of Welsh if they desire. This is achieved by working in partnership with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and various experts from industry and academia.
Scientific research of international importance is conducted here in Wales, and the Science and Technology Pavilion aims to raise the profile of this work, facilitating the public engagement of science.
In addition to the exhibitions at this pavilion, science and technology competitions are set by the Eisteddfod. Click here to find out more.
At this year’s Eisteddfod, low carbon energy is the main theme, and the science exhibitions promise to be varied and interesting. From shows to interactive exhibitions, there will be something for everyone at the Science and Technology Pavilion.
Activities will be published on this page from May onwards.
