Conwy ready for 2019 Eisteddfod Proclamation

Hundreds of local dignitaries and volunteers will join the Gorsedd of the Bards to walk through Conwy town centre on Saturday afternoon, as Conwy County welcomes the 2019 National Eisteddfod.  

The Proclamation Ceremony must be held at least a year and a day before the start of the Eisteddfod.

The procession sets off from Bodlondeb Park soon after 14:00 and follows the road through the town and back to the Park by 15:00 for the ceremony itself. 

Chair of the local Executive Committee, Trystan Lewis, will present the first copy of the 2019 List of Competitions to the Archdruid, and the List will then be available to buy, in Conwy, online and in bookshops across the whole of Wales.

Local people and visitors will be able to enjoy performances by local youngsters on a stage erected in Lancaster Square in the town centre for the day, with S4C’s Cyw and Friends also paying us a visit to look forward to next year’s Eisteddfod festival:

There is a warm welcomee for anyone who wishes to come to the Proclamation Ceremony in Bodlondeb Park at 15:00.  The event will be held at Ysgol Aberconwy if the weather is unfavourable.
