With the National Eisteddfod coming to Anglesey in 2017, we are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds to be part of the team organising and preparing for the festival over the coming months.
Are you interested in being part of the local team working for the Eisteddfod across the island, raising awareness and helping us to reach the Local Fund target?
If so, join us at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni on Monday evening 5 October at 18.00. This is the first meeting since the public meeting over the summer where residents voted unanimously to invite the Eisteddfod to return to Anglesey for the first time in almost twenty years.
This meeting will be an opportunity for people to register their interest in a wide range of subjects and to create the committees which will be leading on organising events and activities across the Maes during Eisteddfod week. The committees’ first duty will be to advise on the subjects and competitions which will be included in the List of Competitions published next summer.
There are all kinds of committees and volunteering opportunities available, and no prior experience is necessary. Anyone wanting to get involved must have an interest in the subject and plenty of energy and ideas – and there’s a warm welcome for people of all ages and from all over the island to turn up on the evening and volunteer to be part of any of the committees.
Many local people expressed an interest to be part of the preparations during and after the public meeting during the summer, and we hope that many more will come to the meeting in Llangefni next week to volunteer as part of the team.
