Do you have a few hours to spare during Eisteddfod week? If so, why not join our volunteering team?
Without the invaluable assistance and support of our army of volunteers, staging the National Eisteddfod would simply not be possible, and we are very indebted to those who have assisted over the years.
Loads of people help out at the National Eisteddfod each year, many of them on a voluntary basis. Although our volunteers aren't paid money, they get free admission for each day they volunteer, plus a food voucher if you volunteer for 2 sessions on any day.
This year you can apply to volunteer for a variety of different roles (details in the Role Profiles) including:
Volunteers are only on duty for a few shifts across the entire festival week; this means that you’ll get time off to enjoy the event. Unfortunately we can't guarantee you time off to watch specific activities, it all depends on what shifts you're allocated!
The National Eisteddfod is a celebration of the Welsh language, and many of our visitors speak Welsh. If you can’t speak Welsh or don’t feel very confident, we do offer a taster session before the event and we will do out best to pair you with a Welsh speaker where required. Welsh is essential for some of these opportunities and this will be stated in the Role Profiles.
It’s really good fun to volunteer – it’s sociable and you’ll get to meet lots of other enthusiastic people.
So if you think you've got the skills and time to offer the Eisteddfod, then please read the role profiles and fill in the form below.
Whilst we will do our best to find suitable volunteering opportunities for everyone, registering does not guarantee that you will be successful this year. You must be 16 or over to volunteer (18 yrs for stewarding).
We hope to welcome you to the team at the Cardiff National Eisteddfod during the summer.
