The Eisteddfod and the National Federation of Women's Institutes in Wales is calling on local businesses and communities to show their support for the Eisteddfod with flags and decorations.
The festival is held on Castle Meadows, Abergavenny from 29 July to 6 August.
This is the first time for the Eisteddfod to visit the area since 1913, and this is the chance to show the rest of Wales and further afield that there’s a warm welcome for the festival for visitors across the region.
A bit of colour, a banner, a window display or poster makes a world of difference as the Eisteddfod approaches. Visitors love seeing the welcome for the Eisteddfod locally, and this reflects well on the area generally.
All support helps us greatly when promoting the Eisteddfod. We are keen to welcome a large number of local visitors to the Eisteddfod as well as those who visit every year. So, creating a buzz and a festival atmosphere locally in towns and villages is important – and what better way to do this than by organising a competition?
The competition will be judged at the end of July. A trophy, donated by the NFWI, will be presented to the successful business / community during a short ceremony on the Pavilion stage at the Eisteddfod on Tuesday afternoon, 2 August.
A PDF copy of the rules and application form are included below.
Closing date: 15 July.
